Homilies

Welcome to these homilies for Sundays, Daily, and various occassions.

In this electronic age spreading the Word in simple form on the Web allows an increasing number of people to think through and ponder on the Sunday and Weekday readings.

You are welcome to use these homilies as inspiration for your own thoughts and concepts.

What is so important about the homily based on the day's Readings?

In Luke (4:16) Jesus in the synagogue opens the scroll of Isaiah and reads from it; he closes the scroll and "he begins to speak to them, ‘This text...'"

At ordination the priest (and deacon) receives a special and exclusive charism from the Holy Spirit to teach, and to preach the Gospel. The Holy Spirit, properly listened to, opens the mind of both homilist and listener.

When you read these reflections listen to God talking to you too.
